Don’t think just because you don’t play the piano or violin or aren’t a great public speaker that you have nothing to contribute to the Church. Your unique talents will permit you to touch lives in a completely unique way and reach people beyond the help of anyone but you. And when you’re counting talents, don’t overlook some of the quiet ones, like being a good listener or truly loving your enemies. These and others like them are among the noblest talents of which God’s children are capable. So please play your part in the symphony and share yourself with us. We need you.

Where were you?!

So today I was the only member of our YW Presidency at church and we only had 2 girls show up! At first I thought, what am I going to do? Then, I realized that this would be a great opportunity to simply talk to those girls that were there and get to know them a little better. Now, I tend to talk a lot, so I tried to make sure to get some feedback from Jessica and Angelina. They were great at giving ideas for upcoming activities and laughing along with me. What I realized today is this: We have the best YW leaders and youth in our ward. We may be small in numbers, but we are mighty in spirit. I may have said that before but it's still true! We work together to invite the spirit in the room and we take time to really listen to our girls. And our girls simply ROCK!! Each one is different and yet they get along and make me feel comfortable-not an easy thing to do! They listen respectfully during lessons and are willing to participate. The girls never deny an opportunity to serve and help others.
